This course examines three basic concepts of biology (cellular structures, physiology, molecular genetics) with a social justice lens. Students will develop skills in scientific modeling, evidence-based writing, data analysis, as well as various Biology lab techniques. The curriculum focuses around the essential question of "How can understanding Biology create a more just society?"
Honors Biology Fall 2021 Google Classroom: Honors
The Honors option is in addition to the preparatory Biology curriculum and is designed to provide a deeper foundation in basic biology concepts that will support students possibly pursuing a career in the scientific field. Students who opt-in to this track will be required to complete college-level readings, prepare a seminar for their peers, and take on at least one leadership role within the classroom.
